The Chicago Bulls in Tech – Desislava Danovska

When Desislava joined Klarna back in 2020 she had no idea she’d be a part of the highest performing team she’d seen, the Chicago Bulls. The team was full of high performers, they had great team spirit, high levels of trust and they were shipping high quality products continuously. They also had some of the highest team retention in the company and they had mostly reached those results through not only great collaboration, communication and discipline, but also through overcoming major challenges together.

In this talk, the parallels between the team dynamics of the Chicago Bulls and tech teams will be explored, and how those insights can be used to build high-performing teams. Drawing from the experience at Klarna, following actionable strategies will be shared:

- finding and balancing the right people in the team

- setting up the right team culture, and
