Agile adoption in the investment banking industry
A case study about Societe Generale Investment Banking division ongoing efforts to implement agile ways of working across its technology department and zooming in the grassroots efforts undertaken across multiple teams in Asia Pacific.
Societe Generale launched in 2014 a strategic programme to implement agile across its IT organisation. Initially putting a strong emphasis on software craftsmanship & scrum practices, the investment banking IT department is now moving towards agile adoption at the organisational level. Together, we will be looking into a grassroots journey started by Hong Kong IT teams working for the Fixed Income & Currencies business line in 2016, largely inspired by LeSS principles. We will discuss a broad range of subjects such as the challenges of Product Ownership (Product definition & steering), scrum adoption within the team and the changes in managerial roles.
